Description


Paladins are the fighters of Adon.  They are the sword that compliments the Cleric's shield.  They seek out evil and destroy it in whatever form it takes. From their piercing war cry to the ability to inspire others to battle harder, Paladins are there fighting the good fight.

 

Paladins are restricted to using only swords and polearms.

Tabards


Paladins each can receive a personalised tabard which they may wear when fighting for Adon. Tabards are colored to reflect the abilities Adon has bestowed on them. Every 25 charisma, a paladin may receive an extra color on their tabard giving it additional powers.

2022 Changes


Jarud's Fury [Arphen 2022-07-15 09:38:04] 497

Fury has been updated.  There are two main changes:

 

1) The skill now provides similar benefit to both slow and fast weapons.

 

2) The following are now fixed values:

     a) Time between skill use and flurry of attacks

     b) Number of attacks granted by the skill

     C) Time of exhaustion period following the fury

 

Please keep in mind that subsequent changes, both for  Jarud's Fury as well as other skills, are likely.  As  always, please report any errors or bugs.  Thanks!

Shield Bash Revisions [Arphen 2022-07-20 01:02:40] 470

The active ability for Shield Bash has not changed,  though it may in the coming days.  However, in 

addition to the existing form of the skill, Shield Bash now also functions as a passive ability, where  each round you have a chance to slap someone in their stupid face with glorious shield.

 

You'll need to log out and back in to activate the passive bashes.

2021 Changes


 

Inspiration Skill [Arphen 2021-11-07 06:28:46] 316

The Inspiration Skill has been completely reworked, and now functions as an aura which effects both the paladin  as well as his worthy (non-heretic non-evil) groupmates who are within the same room.

 

Additionally, the bonuses it provides are now noticeable.

Caduceus Skill [Arphen 2021-11-11 01:31:06] 416

The Caduceus skill has been completely reworked.   Thematically nothing has really changed.  Functionally you should find the following differences:

 

1) Now has a cooldown

2) Now has a heal/damage over time component

3) Now requires Charisma in addition to Willpower

4) Increased mana cost

5) Can now be self-cast

6) Now slows undead attacks while they're on fire

Paladin Tabards [Arphen 2021-11-17 18:08:10] 734

Previously, most tabard colors awarded some resistances in various values, which were all over the place.  One color awarded +3 to a skill, and one color added literally nothing at all, best I can see.

 

Now, each of the eight colors adds +1 to a skill, however one of those 'skills' is 'shield' and one of them is actually +1 profs.

As for resists, the values of the bonuses have been streamlined (equalized) for all colors, and each color provides resists to two resistance types, most of which are the same as

before 

 

This change should be largely invisible.  If you have an existing tabard as you read this message, you will need to acquire a new one to see the changes.  If you find issues or have feedback, please mail Arphen.

 

Blaze of Glory Skill [Arphen 2021-11-17 18:36:49] 329

Previously, Blaze of Glory was adding a flat value to each attack, which heavily favoured faster weapons.

 

Now, Blaze has been normalized to apply its benefit to both fast or slow weapons, whichever you prefer. It should now also be castable as a pig.  Hamhocks of glory (maybe)!

Main skills to focus on initially are Jarud's Fury (burst damage), War Cry (stun), Blaze of Glory (temp weapon enhancement) with a side of Inspiration and Shield/Shield Bash.
Throw in some Caduceus for some self heal and low/mid damage and stamina if you want to skimp on food/drink costs to regain ftg
